About the Client
The client is a growing fintech company in the United States that offers consumer loans with reasonable payment schedules, arranged through partner clinics and merchants. Its name is kept confidential. The company has more than 1,000 employees, and the project brought together management and technical team members in the US, the UK, France, India and Vietnam.
The Challenge
An Off-the-Shelf Loan Platform That Could Not Adapt
The company ran its lending on a third-party product as its core back end, used to process loans, follow up with customers, check payments and connect with the website and other tools. As an off-the-shelf product, it was not flexible and lacked features the business needed, and at times these gaps disrupted operations.
Paperwork and Scattered Information
Operations teams needed better daily support to follow up on loans and borrowers and to work with partner clinics, with less paperwork and supervision. Business departments also needed one place to find the information they use to support customers and management.
A Back End That Had to Keep Up With Growth
As the business grew, the loan system had to integrate openly with other back-end platforms, transfer business data in real time and change quickly as requirements evolved.
Why Odoo & Trobz
The company decided to build its own loan management system from scratch and chose Odoo as the framework, given its track record in business applications. Most of what Trobz developed are new objects and workflows designed around the client's own processes. The team worked in Agile, with weekly deliveries and frequent reassessment of the project plan as the business grew.
