About the Client

Circular Plastics Company (CPC) is a plastic recycling company headquartered in Singapore and operating in Myanmar and Vietnam. It recycles post-consumer PET into food-grade recycled PET (rPET). CPC was incorporated in 2016 and began exporting rPET flakes to Europe in August 2019. In June 2022 it achieved circular production, becoming what it describes as Myanmar's first and only food-grade rPET producer, and in September 2023 it received approval to build its Vietnam factory. CPC is a member of the Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO Vietnam).

The Challenge

A New Plant Still Under Construction

CPC was setting up its newly established Vietnamese entity while the plant there was still under construction, so the ERP had to be ready for each part of the operation as the factory took shape.

Proven Myanmar Processes, a Different Vietnamese Context

Processes that worked well in Myanmar had to be adapted and reconfigured for Vietnam's operational and legal requirements.

A Regulated, Fast-Growing Business

Plastic recycling is operationally complex and closely overseen by international and local regulations. As a fast-growing company in two countries, CPC needed a flexible, well-integrated ERP to structure its operations and support its regional expansion.

Why Odoo & Trobz

CPC needed an ERP that could adapt to its workflows, not a rigid, one-size-fits-all system. Trobz started with a gap analysis based on on-site visits to CPC's operations in Myanmar and Vietnam, which produced a rollout roadmap showing where the two sites were alike and where they differed. Trobz then presented the customizations as a list CPC could prioritize by urgency and budget, using standard Odoo modules wherever possible instead of custom development.

What We Built

  • Phase 1: Purchase, with purchase requests, purchase orders, and supplier and vendor management
  • Phase 1: Approval workflows
  • Phase 1: Integration with BKAV eHoaDon for VAT e-invoices
  • Phase 1: Maintenance
  • Phase 2: Manufacturing (MRP)
  • Phase 3: Accounting
  • Inventory, Sales and HR

Results

  • Each module went live when the plant needed it, in step with factory construction, so CPC's teams could stay focused on other critical setup work instead of taking on a full ERP rollout at once.
  • Procurement, inventory, manufacturing, finance, HR and sales are live and actively used by CPC's teams in Vietnam.
  • CPC credits the preference for standard Odoo modules with reducing complexity, keeping the system stable and speeding up deployment.
  • CPC describes the system as stable, reliable and aligned with its operational workflows.
