About the Client

Manuchar is a Belgium-headquartered distributor of industrial chemicals, steel, polymers and other raw materials, operating in more than 40 countries with 2,800 employees worldwide. Its Vietnam branch, Manuchar Phu My, is 2 km from the main deep-water ports of southern Vietnam and handles bulk imports and distribution for industries including agriculture, animal nutrition, glass and mining.

The Challenge

Manual Processes Could Not Keep Pace With Transaction Volume

With more than 25,000 transport trips a year, managing inbound and outbound flows by hand led to weight discrepancies, stock errors and invoicing gaps, which cost money at that scale.

No Link Between the Weighbridge and the Warehouse System

Weight data had to be entered by hand after each truck movement, which left room for errors and misuse, and there was no automatic way to check weighbridge readings against stock records.

Billing Too Complex to Calculate by Hand

Manuchar invoices by service type and by how long stock has been stored, not by a simple unit price. Calculating this manually across thousands of transactions a month caused delays and billing discrepancies.

Manuchar needed hardware integration, high transaction volumes and dynamic billing rules handled in one system built around its own processes, not a generic warehouse product adapted to fit. Odoo could be extended to connect the software, weighbridges and barcode scanners into a single operational layer.
