Most people know Trobz for our OCA contributions. But we also fix bugs in Odoo's core codebase. Here are four recent pull requests, what triggered each one, and how the Odoo team handled them.

Most people know Trobz for our OCA contributions. But we also fix bugs in Odoo’s core codebase when we find them.

Fixing credit note signs in Vietnam’s e-invoicing (l10n_vn_edi_viettel)

PR: #201993, by Phuc Tran (Project Manager)

In March 2025, Phuc was running a proof of concept for a lead that required the Viettel SInvoice integration (e-invoicing). He hit a bug: credit notes displayed wrong amounts in the Viettel portal. He investigated and worked on a fix.

After a few exchanges with the Odoo team, it was merged in July 2025. Thanks to Nicolas Viseur (@vin-odoo) for helping with the last steps.

Payment providers leaking across websites (account_payment, website_payment)

PR: #218089, by Xavie (Developer)

Xavie was migrating a payment provider setup to version 18.0 for a customer when he noticed something off. Providers were filtered inconsistently in the portal of a multi-website environment: users could see and select payment providers that were not meant for their site. He worked on a fix.

The Odoo team was very reactive, and the PR was merged in less than a week.

A one-line fix for a noisy log warning (payment)

PR: #242477, by Xavie (Developer)

While migrating a custom module, Xavie noticed a warning in the logs and quickly came up with a PR. It is our fastest PR merged by Odoo so far: less than 9 hours.

Nameless partners showing “false” in mail notifications (mail)

PR: #251910, by Tri (Developer)

Tri maintains mail_composer_cc_bcc, a widely used OCA module. While working on it, he ran into a display bug that turned out to be in Odoo core. He proposed a fix. An equivalent fix has since been merged in Odoo.

What We Take Away from This

The Odoo team is reactive and open to fixes these days. Each of these bugs came from real project work, and each one is now fixed for every Odoo user.
