mail_drop_target

Purpose

Allow users to drag and drop saved email files onto Odoo records to create chatter messages and attachments automatically.

Features

mail.thread: Allows dropped .eml or .msg email files to be ingested into threads, converting Outlook messages to RFC emails and refusing duplicates.
mail.thread: Provides optional suppression of follower email notifications when messages are created from dropped emails.
ir.attachment: Detects uploaded email files and routes them to the target record’s message processing to create the chatter entry.
discuss: Intercepts attachment uploads on records or channels to parse email files and return an email-upload marker or access errors.
web: Refreshes the chatter view automatically after an email upload is processed in the background.
res.config.settings: Adds a system setting to disable notifications for mail drag-and-drop imports.
